A few months ago we received two wedding invitations for my cousins. First, I was excited for my cousins that they found their mate they wanted to spend their lives with. Second, I was excited to be invited to the wedding. Living in different towns and different states we didn’t keep in touch like we could have. So, to receive the invitations to their special occasions, I was humbled, blessed and excited!! I marked my calendar and was doing some mental planning to see if we could attend both weddings. As it turned out, it is possible for me to attend both wedding. (Super excited and adding a girly EEEEEE!)

In addition to my cousins getting married this summer, my nephew (on my side of the family) is also getting married. (We love his future bride and anticipating the joy of having her a part of our family!) Our family is growing. The anticipation and excitement is bubbling over! “Our cup runs over.”

Wait! I’m not done yet! We also have 2 more wedding on my in-laws side of the family too! Yep, it’s a wedding kind of summer for us. 5 weddings! My kids are excited for all the cake and desserts! Hahaha!

Being invited to be a part of the beginning of a life long relationship is an honor and privilege. We are invited to be a witness of their promises and public dedication to honor, love and cherish one another. What a blessing to be invited!

Guess what!! You’re invited too! You are invited to the greatest, strongest, the most powerful union ever! God is standing at the alter, anxiously anticipating your entrance and walk down the aisle. He can’t wait to have you in His arms! He can’t wait to protect you! He can’t wait to love you for eternity!

Are you the bride who can’t wait to get down the aisle to her groom to start this new journey together?

Are you a guest, watching in awe as you watch from afar but don’t have the connection that bride has to the groom?

Are you outside, walking by, oblivious to the sacred union in progress just on the other side of the door?

No matter who you are. No matter the guilt, shame, sin, doubt, fear, uncertainty. He loves you and is waiting, filled with hope, yearning for your acceptance, seeking your heart, ready with open arms to love you, comfort you, shelter you, protect you. All you have to do is say, Yes. Yes, I love you, Father. Yes, I have sinned and ask for forgiveness. Yes, I believe Your are the Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Yes, I believe You came to earth and died so that I might be saved. Yes, Father, I need You. I love You. I trust you Father to love me unconditionally, to protect me, to guide me, to give wisdom and knowledge as I seek Your face. You are all present, all powerful, all knowing, all everything!

As in all relationships, it takes time to get to know one another. It takes time to get to know your Heavenly Father. He will not hold back. He gives all He is to you. Get to know His love, soak it in, sit in His presence, Dig into His word, talk to Him, seek out godly counsel. You are not alone. He is with you wherever you go.

If you are the bride, keep walking towards God. Seek Him out in all you do. Get to know Him at a deeper level.

If you are a guest and you know the Groom but maybe not as deeply as you would like to; stand up, step out and walk towards the Groom and return to His presence, His strength and protection. Get to know Him on a deeper level. Grow in your love and trust of Him.

If you are outside, walking by; pause, and take a moment. You know there is a celebration going on on the other side of the door. All you have to do is open the door. Open the door, He is ready for you. He can’t wait to see you. He loves you and wants you.

We have a tendency to overthink, over analyze and create something rather complicated. The simplicity of God’s love for all people is difficult to wrap our earthly contaminated minds around. Yet, it really is that simple. God is love and He desires to love you. If you are still a “heck no!” or sitting on the fence, I dare you to talk to someone you know who is a solid believer of Christ and ask them why they believe what they believe. I double dog dare ya! Be willing to listen and see what God will reveal to you. It will be amazing! Just try it!

If you don’t know who to talk to, talk to me. I would love to listen and share more of my story. you are not alone. You are loved. You are cherished. You are protected.

And when you do make it to the Groom, lean in, be in His presence, trust Him to carry you and find rest for your soul.

Thanks for sharing a moment with me. We are in this together in Him.
